Thousands of young people in Canada are doing extraordinary things and developing into incredible people. The Top 20 Under 20™ Award program is designed to identify outstanding young Canadian leaders, further develop their skills and aptitudes, focus and fuel their passions. Our aim is to help them become the best possible role models for their peers, the best possible ambassadors for Canada and the best possible business, political, social and thought leaders of the future.
At Youth in Motion, we believe in today's world of work, there are many paths to success. Whether your future aspirations are to be a doctor, environmental crusader, skilled trades worker, artist or social innovator, Top 20 Under 20™ can play a role in helping you reach your goals. Our program is multi-faceted - it includes a Leadership Summit to award recipients as well as a year-long mentoring program.
Every year in October we launch an open call for nominations. For 2011, Top 20 Under 20 will begin accepting applications in late October 2010. At that time, we invite you to apply via www.studentawards.com. Thank you for taking the time to apply. Best of luck!
Candidates are shortlisted and judged by a team of Order of Canada judges on their innovation leadership, and achievement - not just in their school, but in their communities, families and networks. Some through volunteerism and a selfless drive to make change, others are on the brink of devising creative business and entrepreneurial solutions, or advancements in medical research.
Once selected, our Top 20 Under 20 leaders are flown to Toronto for an intensive four-day learning and skills building leadership summit. Our partners help us with this by hosting seminars on everything from business etiquette to strategic branding to leveraging successful relationships. The four days culminate in an awards breakfast that gains both national and international media coverage and is attended by some of Canada's most well respected business and non-for-profit leaders in the country.
NEW IN 2010 - Finalist Awards
Thanks to BMO Capital Markets, the 2010 Top 20 Under 20™ finalists will now receive a cash award in addition to being invited to attend the Top 20 Under 20™ Courage to Soar conference in August in 2010.
