OPPORTUNITIES UNLIMIITED FOR YOUNG WOMEN IN THE GTA

Next program runs from June 24 – December 20, 2020

 

NOW RECRUITING PARTICIPANTS


PARTICIPANTS


WHAT IS OPPORTUNITIES UNLIMITED?

  • 4 weeks of full-time PAID Training
  • 22 weeks of full-time PAID Work Placement
  • Your own personal Job Coach/Mentor
  • 5 monthly evening educational workshops
  • 4 monthly peer-to-peer workshops

Only 15 spots are available in the program.


WHO IS ELIGIBLE

If you are: 

  • Between the ages of 16-30
  • Not in receipt of Employment Insurance or Social Assistance
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Have at least one of the following barriers to employment: high school non-completion, single parent, language barriers, Aboriginal ancestry, visible or ethnic minority, lack of social support

After the assessment interview your application will be forwarded to Youth in Motion. Youth in Motion team will call you to schedule a second interview at our office:

OPPORTUNITIES UNLIMITED AIMS TO TO HELP YOUNG WOMEN TO:

  • overcome barriers to employment and transition effectively into the work place or return to school for additional education
  • develop a broad range of skills and knowledge
  • feel empowered towards making meaningful life and career choices
  • equip them with skills that will improve their employability and help them obtain full-time employment
  • connect with positive role models who serve as mentors providing encouragement and coaching during entire work placement period 

 

MENTORS

Mentorship is an important part of this program. Each participant is paired with a mentor who helps the participant cultivate their self-confidence and prepare to join the workforce.
