Step Up and Lead is a mentoring program for grade 12 male and female students. Students have the opportunity to learn about the transferable skills necessary for success in today's workplace. Program focus is "Leadership of Self, Team and Community" and involves a program orientation, launch event (meet your mentor), 6 breakfast workshops, job shadowing, weekly email and community volunteering. Workshops include hot breakfast and the sessions will be interactive and engaging.
YIM is pleased to be partnering with renowned trainers at The Right Mountain who will deliver most of the sessions for this program.
We encourage educators to select students that have demonstrated leadership potential - not necessarily the ones who are already in key roles such as student council executives etc. Note that academics are not a part of the application process but students must be committed to all program events without exception.
Schools can select one student only and there are only 50 spaces available on a first come first serve basis. This program is made possible by the RBC Foundation and, as such, all costs are covered with the exception of a non-refundable $30 registration fee.
