High powered traveling high school assemblies
Leading The Way is an innovative program model created by Youth In Motion. One could describe Leading The Way as an "Inspirational high school assembly". It is also:
- A "hip" and "cool", fully facilitated, one-hour show;
- A fast paced multimedia presentation using powerpoint, humour, music, beat box poetry and video;
- Delivered in a youth friendly format and instantly digestible and moves youth to positive action;
- A vehicle to profile Top 20 Under 20 youth as powerful and positive role models
At every school there are approximately 500 students that attend one show. To date over 10,400 high school students have seen and been affected by Leading The Way. Every time we host Leading The Way in a high school, the number of applications to our Top 20 Under 20 Program and traffic to our website simply skyrockets.
Leading The Way is designed to:
- Inspire youth to act whether it means creating a difference in their families, circles of friends or communities;
- Promote and celebrate the variety of aptitudes that young people have including an entrepreneurial spirit;
- Validate young people's social and historical context while refusing to apologize for the challenges they may face;
- Neutralize negative peer pressure encouraging young people to dream big and set high goals;
- Leave young people with a blueprint for success and a clear vision of themselves as successful human beings ...now.
This program also highlights and references our signature Top 20 Under 20 program by including recipients of this award on stage and in the performance.
The Top 20 Under 20 recipients or alumni that take the stage as part of Leading The Way resonate with audiences who realize, from these peer role models, that they too can accomplish their goals.
